Origin: Smaragd is the German aroma variety released in 2005 from Research Institute in Hull

Agronomics: +/- 1900 kg/ha, small cones

Alpha acids: 4.0-6.0 %

Beta acids: 3.5-5.5 %

Co-humulone: 13-18 % of alpha acids

Total oil: 0.5-0.8 ml / 100 grams

Aroma: nice mild hoppy aroma

Myrcene: 20-40 % of whole oil

Caryophyllene: 9-14 % of whole oil

Humulene: 30-50 % of whole oil

Farnesene: <1 % of whole oil

Brewing characteristic: mild aroma, very low co-humulone level

Recommended use and hopping: as hop pellets type 90 or 45, third hopping
